Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen is a national higher school that provides education in the field of the Humanities, Natural, Technical and Social Sciences. Shumen University has an institutional accreditation for 6 years(Certificate of NAOA No 46/08.04.2009) with the highest possible grade.
The education goals of Shumen University are:
● Training highly qualified specialists, adaptive to the social needs by means of education at all educational degrees in the system of higher education;
● Creating and disseminating academic knowledge in the field of the Humanities, Natural, Social and Technical Sciences, based on the best traditions and the modern tendencies in Bulgarian and world sciences;
● Applying the integrated principles of education and creating equal conditions of education and successful social adaptation for people with special needs.
The activities of Shumen University are focused on:
● Training of students in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in the humanities, natural and technical sciences, pedagogical, social and economic sciences;
● Research and art creative activities;
● Post-graduate specialization and qualification of people with different educational degrees;
● Methodological supervising and support of colleges and high schools;
● International cooperation with higher schools and cultural institutions and organizations;
● Developing of informational, publishing and expert-consultative activities.
Shumen University covers all the requirements for a higher school. Due to the wide range of specialties in the above-mentioned fields, there is a good ground for the development of the University and its stability as an institution in a region with multiethnic minorities.
Shumen University has its own buildings in Shumen, Dobrich (College), and Varna (Department of Information and In-Service Teacher Qualification).
